BURT, Carolyn Kay


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, November 11, 2012 - Carolyn Kay Burt passed away Oct. 31, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 69. Carolyn was born on July 25, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Russell Dean Burt and Kathleen (Anderson). Carolyn attended the University of California, Berkeley Class of 1969, formerly in the Domestic Peace Corps (Vista) and loved taking computer classes at the Lake Havasu Library. She worked as a nonprofit grant writer/marketer. She helped start a heroin rehabilitation program for women in the Los Angeles barrio and was one of the founding authors of the "Head Start" program. She was a proud Democrat and Scot. Her stamp on the Civil Rights and Equal Rights Movements and our hearts is one that shall be cherished and not forgotten by so many that she touched and inspired. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Regen Crockett Heller, of Encino, Calif.; brothers, David Russell Burt, of Payson, Utah, and Cory Dean Burt, of Tacoma, Wash.; her sister, Robyn Susan Burt, of Payson, Utah; as well as 10 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews.
