Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Louis T. Sandoval (May 18, 1937 - November 11, 2012) Louis T. Sandoval ,75, of Flagstaff passed away November 11, 2012. He was born May 18, 1937 to Manuel and Elena Sandoval in Grants New Mexico. He moved to Flagstaff from New Mexico when he was 4 years old, he graduated from Flagstaff High School and married his wife of 53 years Lydia Hernandez. Louie’s life was family and sports playing on traveling softball, volleyball and basketball teams. Once the couple had their first child, Louie Jr., the sports didn't stop. Neither Louie nor Lydia stopped playing, and once their children started getting older, they naturally started playing all of the sports their parents played. On one field would be Louie and Lydia playing in their games, and somewhere off to the side would be their six children, either watching or playing in games of their own. Louie worked for the Forest Service for many years after his retirement you could find him at high school games watching grand kids play then at night working for the city of Flagstaff Recreation adult sports. Louie’s legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren; he is survived by his Wife Lydia, sister Lucy Sandoval, Children Mary (Andres) Godinez, Louie (Mona) Sandoval, Barbara (Kenny) Macias, Patty (Rudy) Baca, Cathy (Eric) Lobstein, Theresa Sandoval and Jimmy (Lauren) Sandoval. Grandchildren Daniel Sandoval, Anthony Sandoval, Andrew Rojo, Ashley Macias, Brandon Macias, Rhiannon (David) Baca Haskell, Jessica (Adam) Baca Julien, Sarah (Brian)Lobstein McCarthy, Kyle Lobstein, Amie Gastelo, Tanya Gastelo, Jade Sandoval, Lana Sandoval, Celestina Martinez, Andres Godinez Jr.,Benjamin Godinez, and Yolanda Godinez. Great grandchildren, Daylin Sandoval, Halyn Macias-Tromm, Madison Sandoval, twin girls on the way and many nieces and nephews. Louie is preceded in death by his grandson RJ Baca. Holy Rosary will be Thursday at 7pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Mass Friday 10 also at St. Pius with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
