Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Marvin Morita August 17th 1937- October 15th, 2012 Marvin Morita, 75, passed away on October 15th, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. His family and friends were by his side. He was born to Michiko “Mary” and Minori “Mino” Morita in Long Beach, California on August 17th, 1937. His family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1941, where he attended and graduated from East High School in 1955. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and completed training in the field of photography. His working career included positions at Thiokol in Brigham City, Utah and with General Motors in Milford, Michigan. He retired from GM in 1996 after 30 years with the company. Marvin enjoyed reading, traveling, photography, playing golf and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his spouse Estelle; sons Dane(Bonnie) and Todd(Stephanie); brother Alvin(Kathy); sister Joyce(Larry); and grandchildren Aaron, Andrew and Samuel. A memorial service will be held at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley, Arizona on December 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm. A reception and dinner celebrating his life will be held that evening at the home of his spouse, Estelle Morita In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
