Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Sunday, November 18, 2012 Marjory Beth Stout McGivney, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully on Nov. 11, 2012 in Flagstaff, Arizona where she lived for the past six years at The Peaks Senior Living Community, close to her daughter Annette McGivney. Previously, she lived in Austin, Texas with her husband Dr. Felix McGivney, MD (deceased June 30, 2007). Marjory was born Jan. 18, 1926 in Jacksonville, Illinois to Ernest G. and Norma D. Stout. She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1943, attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville and then transferred to Pennsylvania State University where she received a BA degree in 1947 and a MS degree in Psychology in 1949. Marjory was married briefly to Dr. Vernon Kinross Wright, MD, of England. Working as a clinical psychologist for more than 35 years, Marjory specialized in child learning disabilities. Aside from her work, she loved theatre both as an actor and patron, needlepoint and embroidery, encouraging her daughters in whatever they pursued and teaching Bible study in later years. Marjory and Felix McGivney moved with their three daughters from Houston to Conroe, Texas in 1970 where they lived until late in life. Marjory is survived by her three daughters - Elizabeth Massey of Arlington, Texas, Annette McGivney of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Maria Arrellaga of Austin, Texas, as well as seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of Marjory’s life will take place in Flagstaff, Arizona at The Peaks Senior Living Community, 3150 North Winding Brook Road, November 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home (512) 452-8811.
