The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Wednesday, November 21, 2012 Ruth Mainwaring was born to Myrtle and Roy Provine on Sept. 3, 1931 in Akron, Ohio. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 16, 2012 while visiting her son in Bakersfield, California. She is survived by five sons: Roger (Kathy) Provine of Ohio, Jimmy (Deb) Smith of Colorado, Dennis (Mary) Renuk of California, Larry Smith of Michigan, Carl (Dawn) Smith of Michigan. Also survived by three daughters: Cynthia Barkman of Arizona, Danielle (Karl) Svaleng of Arizona, Daryl “D.J.” Jones. She is also survived by 1 sister, Nagene Lancaster of Ohio along with 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband and son, Allen Renuk & two sisters, Mary and Mildred. Ruth was very involved with the Awana Program at First Southern Baptist Church of Prescott Valley, where she was an active member. Previous activities include membership in American Legion in Cottonwood, Arizona and several bowling leagues. Ruth’s favorite past-times were crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed watching sport activities on TV and knew the names of all the Phoenix Suns and Diamondback players. Services will be on Saturday, November 24th at 2 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church Prescott Valley, 2820 N. Pleasant View Dr, Prescott Valley, Arizona.
