Vivian Louise Dougherty, age 90, passed away Oct. 29, 2012 in Farmington, N.M., at the home of her son, Patrick, with those who loved her by her side.
She was born Feb. 16, 1922 to Walter Forest and Eunice Sydenham in Salida, Colo. She graduated the Denver School of Business, Denver.
She and her husband, Harry, were involved with the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Pearl Harbor Survivors to which she remained very active after Harry’s passing. She also loved participation with the Coast Guard Auxiliary in which she was very active in Los Angeles as well as with activities in Lake Havasu City.
Vivian loved Lake Havasu City. She and Harry had a home here for 45 years to which they retired to about 30 years ago.
She is survived by her son, Patrick (Debbie) Dougherty, of Farmington, N.M.; granddaughter, Katy Brown-Thibodeau, of Deltona, Fla; Michelle Dowty, of Phoenix and Kelle West, of Prescott; six great-grandkids and four great-great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Dougherty; parents, Walter and Eunice Sydenham; sister, Almeda Susie Flint and brother, Clarence Sydenham.
A gravesite service will take place Nov. 24 at 2 p.m., Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, where Vivian’s and her husband, Harry’s ashes will be interred together. The VFW will be providing a small service.
