ROBERTSON, Elizabeth (Betty) Dees

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/27/2012 Elizabeth “Betty” Dees (Munholand) Robertson was born April 17, 1942, in Ballinger, Texas. She was raised in El Paso, Texas where she graduated from Ysleta High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. She married Ken Robertson Aug. 16, 1964, in El Paso. After graduating from UTEP she taught English in the El Paso school district for several years before she moved to Alpine with her husband Ken and son Kenny. Her daughter Susan was born in Springerville. Betty taught high school English at Round Valley High School and served as the high school Librarian in Springerville, until her retirement in 2001. She moved to Las Cruces, N.M. after her husband and son’s deaths. Betty’s greatest love after her family was teaching. She was an outstanding teacher and friend to everyone around her whom the students admired very much and loved to learn from. Preceded in death by her parents Eugene Munholand and June Marie (Horne) Munholand, adoptive parents Molindia and Francis West, husband Ken L. Robertson and son Kenny L. E. Robertson. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Robertson; siblings Eugene Munholand, Pat (Munholand) Swindle, Sally (Bolton) Kading, Robert Bolton, Bud West, Lonnie West, Peggy (West) Chaapel, Patty (West) Wylie, Judy (West) Montoya, Fritzie (West) Glanville. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Round Valley High School Auditorium.
