LAUGER, William (Bill)


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Thursday, November 29, 2012 William (Bill) Lauger, 86, a longtime resident of Flagstaff, who was living in Tucson, Arizona, passed away November 12, 2012 from complications of prostate cancer. He was born in Swedesburg, Iowa on April 23, 1926, the son of Emil and Britta Lauger. Bill attended Iowa State University and was married to Imogene Curry on September 10, 1949. Bill spent his working career as a landscape architect working with the Illinois highway and tollway departments, and the US Forest Service in Arizona. He was active in the Lutheran Church and he and Imogene opened their home to many international college students while living in Flagstaff, Arizona. Bill is survived by his bride of 63 years Imogene; brothers John and Lloyd (Martha) Lauger of Illinois; daughter Milenda (Steve) Powers; sons Ross (Debbie), John (Sharon), Charles (Elaine) and Roy (Kimberly) Lauger; grandchildren Jean Powers, Stephanie Lauger, Amy Lauger, Tyler Lauger, Kayla Lauger and Dylan Lauger, Ruth McIntosh, John Fleming, Kaci Oram, Curtis Ware and Niki Well. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1601 N. San Francisco St., Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
