Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Christopher Todd Zimmerman (April 29, 1974 - December 1, 2012) Chris Zimmerman, 38 Christopher Todd Zimmerman of Flagstaff, AZ died December 1, 2012 at the Flagstaff Medical Center of head injuries sustained in a fall while hiking in the Coconino National Forest with the family dog. Mr. Zimmerman was born April 29, 1974 in Rochester, Michigan. He graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, Illinois. He continued his education at Northern Arizona University and the University of Utah obtaining bachelors degrees at both institutions while pursuing his passion for scientific research. Chris was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, sailing, bicycling, skiing, scuba diving and white water rafting throughout the country. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Connie and Carey McDonald, father and step-mother, Ronald Zimmerman and Sue Livingston and sister, Lisa Zimmerman Abbey. He will be especially missed by his niece Isabelle Abbey and nephew Carson Abbey who adored their attentive uncle. All will miss the quick wit, wisdom and humour Chris provided in any social gathering. Chris lives on in four people who received his heart, liver, kidneys and pancreas in transplant operations. He also donated bone and tissue in keeping with his research hopes and desires. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jane and Wenley Smith and paternal grandparents, Lucille and Elmer Zimmerman. A memorial service is planned at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Flagstaff on Tuesday, 10:AM, December 4th.
