West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Tuesday, December 04, 2012 Raymond H. Shuey III, 58, of Avondale died Nov. 23, 2012, in Avondale. Mr. Shuey was born Aug. 12, 1954, in Ventura County, Calif., to Raymond Jr. and Dorothy Shuey. He was a public servant who served Arizona cities for 32 consecutive years. He worked as the finance director for the city of Avondale for four years, as the controller for the city of Glendale for 19 years and retired as CFO and finance director in 2009. He served on the Avondale City Council for 10 years and represented the city on numerous civic committees. He received a bachelor's of science degree in accounting and a master's in public administration from Arizona State University, and was a certified public accountant. He is survived by his wife, Donna Shuey; two daughters, Allison and Laura; and his mother, Dorothy. A rosary recital will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Vianney Parish, 539 La Pasada Blvd. in Goodyear, with a Mass celebration at 11 a.m. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
