Jan Pietersma, 88, of Goodyear, passed away peacefully November 27th, 2012 at home. He was born on November 27, 1924 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Jan was an adventurous and hardworking soul, working all over the world in places like Curacao and the Caribbean Islands. He settled down in Southern California, working as a master craftsman machinist. After enjoying a few years of retirement inCalifornia, Jan and his wife Joana relocated toArizonain 2000.
Jan was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed good jokes, dancing, had a contagious laugh, and loved to travel, visiting family and friends all over the world. He will be greatly missed by all!
Jan is survived by his wife, Joana; one son Gerrit Jan; three step-children Henriette White, Irene Phillips, and Stan Outman; one daughter-in-law Lisa; eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife Gerri and son Remi.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, December 8th at Thompson Funeral Chapel,926 S. Litchfield Rd. in Goodyear, Ariz.

Jan Pietersma, 88, of Goodyear died Nov. 27, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Pietersma was born Nov. 27, 1924, in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
He worked all over the world in places such as Curacao and the Caribbean Islands. He then settled down in Southern California, working as a master craftsman machinist. He relocated to Arizona in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gerri; and one son, Remi.
He is survived by his wife, Joana; one son, Gerrit Jan; three step-children, Henriette White, Irene Phillips and Stan Outman; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Dec. 8 at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear.
