Peggy (Egan) Lee Janis was born in Phoenix, AZ on September 26, 1956, and passed away on December 6, 2012 at the Olivia White Hospice Home.
Peggy’s infectious laugh, wit, humor, compassion and directness will be fondly remembered. Flagstaff was her home and she loved her family, friends and community. Peggy was a long-time player and sponsor in the City Slo-Pitch league, and she was Commissioner and coached for many years in AYSO.
She enjoyed playing golf and bowling, raising dogs, and traveling with her husband. Peggy graduated from both Flagstaff High School and NAU. She had a long career in public service working with the Coconino County Attorney, the Flagstaff City Attorney, she was the Deputy Court Administrator for the Flagstaff City Court, and retired from the City as the Deputy Clerk in September 2012.
She is survived by her husband Tony (TJ) Janis, son Daniel Lee, daughter Diana Clayton (Bryan), and stepsons K.C. Lee (Adrienne) and Michael Janis, stepdaughter Codie Janis, brother Michael Egan (Pam), sister Judy Finney (Bill), her nephews Chris and Michael Finney and her four nieces Shannon Vieira, Dee and Amy Egan and Sarah Finney.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Lucy Egan, and two brothers, Frank and Chris Egan.
A celebration of her life will take place at City Hall Council Chambers and the adjacent Conference Room at 2pm on Friday, December 14th.
