Helen M. (Patterson) Blondell passed away in Winslow on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was born on July 22, 1950 in Denver, Colorado, the third daughter of E.J. and Betty Patterson.
Helen was an exceptional homemaker, she enjoyed and excelled at baking and putting on family gatherings. She was artistic, spiritual, very talented with home decorating and restoring antiques, and had an especially unique and fun sense of humor. For many years, she had the most beautiful garden in Winslow.
Helen grew up in Winslow, graduating in 1968. After graduation, she married Mike and became an Air Force wife and mother, moving the family numerous times around the United States and England. Helen loved nature and animals, especially her ferrets and dogs, leaving Blaze behind to watch after Mike.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Ted "Mike" Blondell and their sons Tim (Marissa) and Jason (Alyson); grandchildren Ryan, Alexis, Olivia, Noah and Mason, all of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; her three sisters Diane Patterson, Janice (Art) Griffith, Jonee (Larry) Bockelman, all of Winslow, and their families. She is also survived by her father- and mother-in-law, Ted and Alesia Blondell of Middlesboro, Kentucky and brothers-in-law Gene, Dick and Robin and their families, her aunt Donnie Molello of Penrose, Colorado and aunt Joanne Patterson of Selma, California. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of good friends and neighbors also mourn her loss.
Private services are planned for a later date, Norvel Owens Mortuary assisted with arrangements. The family would like to extend very special thanks to Dr. John Sears for his kind and thoughtful assistance.
