WILHELM, Harvey LeRoy


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/11/2012 Harvey LeRoy Wilhelm, 68, died Nov. 24, 2012, following the sudden onset of pneumonia in Salt Lake City, Utah. He had battled cancer for 11 years with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. Harvey was born in 1944, in Winslow, to Carl LeRoy Wilhelm and Mabel Rogers Wilhelm. He grew up in St. Johns and following high school attended Arizona State University in Tempe. During his four years of service to his country in the Army, he met Molly Gort in Germany and they were married 43 years ago. Harvey is survived by his wife, Molly; four children and their spouses, all of Salt Lake City and 12 grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to all of them. He is also survived by six siblings: Vicki Jones of Mesa, John Wilhelm of Springerville, Shirley Jensen, Connie Wilhelm, Julie Wilkins and Eric Wilhelm of St. Johns. Harv was friendly and outgoing and loved people. He made friends wherever he went by treating people as thought they were already his friends. As stated by his sister, Harv leaves a huge void in the lives of those who knew him because he was larger than life. He was technicolor in a black and white world.
