The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/11/2012 Amanda Padilla, 43, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in St. Johns at her parent’s home. She was born Feb. 15, 1969 in Flagstaff, the daughter of Sammy Padilla, Sr. and Amadita Barreras Padilla. Amanda was an incredible mother who would light up a room with her smile. “No” was not in her vocabulary with her children; they were her world. Amanda is survived by her sons: Toriano Carbajal of St. Johns; Tys Emilio Nikolaus of Gilbert; daughter Elena A. Abeytia, Douglas; brothers: Leo Padilla of St. Johns; Samuel Padilla of Kingman; sisters: Lorraine Schaeffer of St. Johns; Adaline Ramirez of Waddell; Bernadette Padilla of St. Johns; and two grandchildren: Hector and Marilena. She was preceded in death by her parents. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, with visitation beginning at 6 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, also at the church. Interment will follow the mass at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
