The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 James L. Skaggs, 78, born Oct. 17, 1934, went to be with the Lord, on Dec. 6, 2012. James is survived by his wife, Gloria (Shelton) Skaggs of Prescott Valley; and sons, James L. Skaggs Jr. and his wife Pam of Superior, Ariz., Julia Gutierrez and her husband Armando of El Mirage, Ariz., Barry J. Skaggs and his wife Martina of Columbus, Neb., Jason L. Skaggs and his wife Laura of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and daughters, Sherry Doran and her husband Ron of Superior, Ariz., Julia Gutierrez and her husband Armando of El Mirage, Ariz.; and stepchildren, Baelynn and George, both of Bald Knob, Ark., and Mike of Porum, Okla. James was one of 11 children and is survived by two brothers, Bill Skaggs of Surprise, Ariz., and Odie Skaggs of Peoria, Ariz.; two sisters, Louise Stokes of Avondale, Ariz., and Betty Coy of Hartshorne, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at the Fountain of Life Community Church, 3160 North Lynx Lake Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz.
