Prescott, Ariz. -- Edith Knight, 83, died July 26, 1996. Mrs. Knight was born on November 24, 1912 in Charleroi, Penn. She was the daughter of John William and Adeline (Godisart) Watkinson.
She moved to Arizona from Corning, N.Y. in 1970, where Mr. Knight was employed as an accountant with Corning Glass Works for 45 years.
She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Charleroi and for 30 years a member of Christ Church, Episcopal in Corning. In Prescott, she was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church.
She worked as a volunteer in the Public Schools and Community College in Corning, also for the American Red Cross during the disasterous 'Agnes' tornado and flood in 1972.
Survivors include: her husband Frank Knight, whom she married in 1934 in Wellsburg, VA; two sons, Frank Knight of Cohoes and James Knight of Tucson, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Sarah Knight of Cohoes.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John 'Bud' Watkinson in 1976 and granddaughter, Laurel, in 1991.
