CONLOGUE, Elizabeth (Liz)

Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from December 12 to December 19, 2012 - Elizabeth "Liz" (Murray) Conlogue, age 83, a 35-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., rejoined our Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 2, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born to the late William Murray and Mary Katz on January 11, 1929, in Lakewood, New Jersey, but Liz would say that her life really began when she married Daniel William Lee Conlogue III on July 9, 1949. Liz and Dan established a loving household in Covina, California, and were blessed with three children: Catherine, Daniel and Scott. A skilled homemaker and avid seamstress, Liz tenderly crafted the finest clothes for her children, planted and maintained a bountiful vegetable garden, and harvested the most delectable avocados in Southern California. Liz's immaculate flower garden was highly regarded for its lovely fragrances and vibrant, year-round blossoms, and she was known by her family and neighbors as an outstanding chef and baker. The family enjoyed annual vacations on the Colorado River, and purchased a vacation home in Bullhead City. In 1977 Dan retired from the LAPD, and they relocated to their Bullhead City home. The affectionate words of her daughter-in-law, Mary, speak for us all: "Elizabeth was the most selfless, giving, caring individual. She will reflect and shine through the legacy she created, shaped, molded and nurtured – her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren." Liz lost her loving partner of 61 years, Daniel, two years ago in December of 2010 - they have been reunited once more; for this, we rejoice! Liz is survived by her first born daughter, Catherine; firstborn son and namesake of three generations before him, Daniel and his devout wife, Mary; baby of the family, Scott and his dear wife, Eileen. Also in mourning are her brother-in-law, Richard Conlogue; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral services will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 9250 Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley. A gathering will follow at the Conlogue residence.
