GENTILE, Alfred


The Post-Standard, Syracuse, New York Tuesday, July 30, 1996 Former Auburn, N.Y. resident Alfred Gentile Jr., 53, died of cancer July 24 at his home in Prescott, Ariz. Mr. Gentile was a native of Auburn and had lived in Prescott for more than a year. During his career, he had been employed with Fisher Body General Offices in Warren, Mich., IBM Office Products in Lexington, Ky., Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post and Tompkins Brothers Inc. in Syracuse. Mr. Gentile also owned and operated the Borodino Hardware and Gentiles General Store in Skaneateles from 1979 to 1988. He was a 1960 graduate of Union Springs Central School and a 1965 graduate of General Motors Institute. Surviving are his wife, Carol J.; a son, Anthony S. of Butte, Mont.; a daughter, Heather Y. Gentile of Saginaw, Mich.; a step-daughter, Tammy K. Wolfanger of Liverpool; a step-son, Jason J. Wolfanger of Endicott; a brother, Robert S. of Schenevus; and three step-grandchildren. Services will be private in Arizona. Memorial services will be conducted in Auburn during the fall.
