Dorothy Jean Williams passed away Dec. 3, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 86. Dorothy was born Oct. 10, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to James and Grace Jean Baxter.
Dorothy moved from New York to California in 1966 and was employed with Hughes Tool Co., until she retired in 1990 then moved to Lake Havasu City where her grandson worked in the Fire Department. She and her husband, Daniel, have lived out their retirement since.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, crocheting, puzzles as well as watching her great-grandkids when young. She and Dan loved to visit Shugrue’s every Thursday at 3 p.m. for the last 23 years.
Dorothy donated her body to science to help the medical world. This was her way to give it back and pay it forward.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Daniel J. Williams, of Lake Havasu City; son, Bruce Williams, of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Barbara J. Lopez, of Walnut, Calif.; sisters, Audrey Bozza, of Staten Island, N.Y., and Pricilla Dewitt, of New York; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at Lietz-Fraze Chapel Feb. 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. with a reception following the service at Shugrue’s.
