Jack A. Pozenel, age 77, a 15-year resident of Fort Mohave, Ariz. was called home by the Lord on Thursday, December 6, 2012 in Fort Mohave.
He was born January 19, 1935 to Jack L. and Brigetta Pozenel in East Liverpool, Ohio.
Jack graduated from the College of Wooster (Ohio) with a BA in Chemistry and studied Chemical Engineering at Ohio State University. He worked as a chemical engineer for Olin Corp., E. R. Squibb & Sons, and Mobil Chemical. He was a purchasing manager for O.M. Scotts in Marysville, Ohio and Lesco Inc., in Rocky River, Ohio.
He served as a volunteer fireman in Franklin Township, N.J. and a member of the Franklin Township school board. He coached little league for many years and served as president of the Hightstown Baseball Managers Association in New Jersey.
Jack retired from Lesco in 1997, and moved that year to Fort Mohave where he became involved with the Mohave Valley Bridge Club as an active player and was named treasurer and director.
Jack and Betty bowled together for 12 years and golfed together at Chaparrel Country Club in Bullhead City for five years. Jack participated 26 years in the ABC/USBC National Open bowling tournament.
He was a member of St. John's The Baptist Catholic Church in Laughlin, Nev. and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jack enjoyed his family slightly more than he enjoyed bridge, bowling, and golf. He takes with him all our love, we will hold him close to our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and oldest son, Gregory A. Pozenel.
Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty; three daughters, Terry (Jeff) Honnold, Betsy Spain, and Jennifer Pozenel; son, Jack (Maggie) Pozenel; sister, Sandie (John) Shulas; brother, Mike (April) Pozenel, both of Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
There are no services at this time.
A private memorial gathering will be held in Ohio at a later date.
The family requests no flowers, but memorials in Jack's name may be sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer or the American Cancer Society.
