Lowell "Barney" Barnhart, 85, born March 30, 1927 in Mattoon, Ill., passed away Dec. 14, 2012 in Prescott, Ariz.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 21, 2012 at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott. Services will be 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. Committal is at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 28, 2012 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix.

Lowell (Barney) Barnhart passed into eternal life on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.
Barney served his country overseas during WWII. He was a lifetime, active member of the Church of Christ. His primary interest was in being faithful to God. He loved children. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, camping, visiting with friends, traveling and enjoying nature and life in general.
He is survived by Betty, his beloved wife of 64 years. He is also survived by a brother, Roger of Cottonwood; son Ralph of Paulden; and daughters Evelyn of Camp Verde and Jocelyn of Peach Springs. He is survived by five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews along with their families.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott. The celebration of Barney's life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.
Barney's body will be interred 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Ariz. with full military honors.
