Bert William "Bill" Mead, 77, died Dec. 17, 2012, in Flagstaff.
Services will be Friday with Holy Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Winslow.

Holy Rosary for Bert William "Bill" Mead will be held Friday, December 21, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church; Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. Bill, 77, a lifelong resident of Winslow, AZ, passed away on Monday, December 17,2012 in Flagstaff, AZ.
Bill was born and raised in Winslow, AZ, the son of Bus and Rose Mead, and graduated from W.H.S in 1953. He attended Eastern Arizona College and ASC, Tempe where he played baseball and football. He coached American Legion and spent over 25 years coaching Connie Mac, Little League, and Babe Ruth. He also spent some time playing semi-pro baseball.
In addition to being an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he was actively involved in his community through his participation and leadership in Elks, Planning and Zoning Commission, Winslow Memorial Hospital Board, Old Trails Museum, and recently served as President of the Winslow Historical Society. He was employed with the Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years and worked alongside his father in the real estate business.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Coraleen Mayes Mead, and their five children: Mike Mead (Kris), Debby Zeiger (Mark), Donna Keller (Mark), Bert Mead (Angele), and Vicky Mead, as well as his nine grandchildren: Kristin, Chasa, Colton, Brandon, Eric, Cayter (Dustin), Britney, Jennifer, and John-Michael.
He is also survived by his sister Patty Greer (Walt), brother Mike Mead (Irene), brother Randy Mead (Jenny), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His sense of humor, love of life and everyone in it will be dearly missed.
