WILKINSON, Casey

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona, Thursday, December 20, 2012 Casey Wilkinson, age 20, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, of an accidental drug overdose suffered at his home in Cottonwood. Casey is survived by his parents, JoAnne and Malcolm of Camp Verde, and three brothers, Morgan of Boulder, CO, Jamie of Berkeley, CA, and Kelly of Peoria, Arizona. Casey leaves a host of friends and co-workers in the Verde Valley as a student at Clardale-Jerome School, Cottonwood Middle School, and Mingus Union High School prior to graduation from Primavera Online High School in 2009. He was an avid skateboarder, dirtbiker, and snowboarder. A memorial service will be held at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012. The family seeks to remind the community of the potential tragic consequences of drug abuse that Casey’s death, and too many others in Yavapai County, represents.
