Casey Adkins, of Flagstaff, succumbed to her injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident and passed on Friday December 14th with her daughter by her side.
Casey worked many years with the Coconino County where she began her time in the County’s Finance Department on Feb. 9, 2000 as an accountant. In her nearly 13 years with the County, she rose to become administrative grants manager, and longtime member of the events committee.
She will be remembered as a friend and woman with a tough exterior, but with a heart of gold. Casey had a very eclectic range of interests from Heavy Metal concerts, to her love of animals. She was extremely intelligent and witty, which once you were able to spend time with her, you would realize she was just fun to be around and talk to.
Casey is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Corey Wesinger, grandchildren Reanna Wesinger and Kyle Adkins.
She was preceded in death by her son Mason Adkins and her mother Teckla Nowak.
Casey had a love for all animals big or small, in lieu of flowers her family feels memorial contributions to an animal rescue organization of your choice would be appropriate and appreciated.
Condolences and memories my be shared with her family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com
Arrangements are under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary.
