James (Jim) L. Larson, Sr
Jim was born April 2, 1935 to Darleen and Leroy Larson in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is preceded, in death, by his parents and beloved brother Richard.
Jim passed away on December 18, 2012 with his wife at his side, at the age of 77. Though he suffered from Alzheimers over the past 6 years complications from a stragulated hernia was the cause of death. Jim spent the past 1 1/2 years in a memory care facility, Arbor Rose, getting all the love and care anyone could ask for and was eventually in the care of East Valley Hospice.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jerilyn and sons James Jr., John, daughters Linda, Carol, and Mary Jo and step-sons Samuel and Michael. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He has 3 sisters Judy, Donna and Kay all residing in his childhood state of Minnesota.
He greatly influenced us all with his humor and love. Jim shared many wonderful years vacationing up north, in Wisconsin, with the family and friends.
Jim served 2 1/2 years in the United States Army and therefore will be honored in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Joliet, IL. The celebration will be determined by the children at a later date.
Jim has spent the last 16 years in Arizona and made many friends. on behalf of his friends, a memorial will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at:
