A.B. Braggs was born on July 15, 1929 in Lovelady,Texas to James and Henrietta Braggs. He was youngest of seven children.
A.B. moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1948 where he united in holy matrimony with Toledo Mae Braggs. To this union eight children were born, four boys and four girls.
A.B. was always a family man and a very hard worker. He loved to play hard on Fridays and Saturdays, but on Sundays he was getting ready for the work week. He had style in whatever he did. In the way he dressed, the cars he drove and he always made sure his family had what they needed. He was firm, he was funny, but didn’t bite his tongue for anyone.
A.B. established his own business,“Braggs Trucking”. He became a very successful business man. He had great work ethics and tried to inspire that in his children and grandchildren.
Preceding A.B. in death is his parents, James and Henrietta Braggs; siblings, Willie Mae Brooks, Mary Jones, Cleatha Braggs, Freddie Braggs, Ester Braggs, the mother of his children, Toledo Mae Braggs, and one son, James Braggs.
A.B. leaves behind: four daughters, Doris Batson (Franklin), Joyce Booth (Ramon), Rosie Lee Awosika, Brenda Sharp (Jerry); three sons, Charles Braggs, Jessie Braggs (Demetrius), Jerry Braggs (Ruth) all of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Perry Braggs of Houston, TX; his second wife, Elizabeth Braggs; three step-daughters, Eva Hunter, Cynthia McGee, Teresa Green all of Phoenix, AZ; a special friend, Yvette Daniels of Phoenix, AZ; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
