Elmer Krause Richard, 88, passed away Dec. 11, 2012 at home in the comfort of his family. Elmer was born on Aug. 9, 1924, in Phoenixville, Pa., to Elmer and Stella (Krause) Richard.
Elmer was a welder with Brooks Instrument in Hatfield, Pa., for many years and operated a welding business at his residence after his retirement. Elmer moved to Lake Havasu City in 2008 where he enjoyed the warm weather and watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles sports teams. He previously enjoyed fishing on Lake Ontario, N.Y., and also sponsored a softball league (Richard's Welding).
Elmer is survived by his five children, Ronald Richard, of Lansdale, Pa., Susan Cairns, of West Point, Pa., Barry (Lucetta) Richard, of Schwewnksville, Pa., David (Mary Ann) Richard, of Telford, Pa., and Maryann (Bill) Mason, of Lake Havasu City; step-brother Bill (Helen) Atwell, of Zieglerville, Pa.; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cecilia (Lewandowski); brothers, Clyde, Noah and Wesley Richard and great-granddaughter Amanda Cairns.
Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, Lake Havasu City and Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, Pa., where he will enter his final resting place with his wife, Cecilia, Jan. 5, 2013, at 1 p.m. where there will be a memorial service for family and friends.
