Jerome Lobel of Phoenix died April 21, 2004. He was 75. He was born in Canton, Ohio. He was a retired computer consultant. He was a founding member of the Arizona Sierra Club, a pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Carrie Goelitz of Phoenix and Jana of Scottsdale; step-daughters, Nadia Lancy of Atlanta and Sonia Lancy of Scottsdale; brother, Leonard of Escandido; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Paradise Memorial Gardens, with Rabbi William C. Berk officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Temple Chai, 4645 E. He was born in Canton, Ohio and grew up in Los Angeles, CA. He moved to Phoenix in the early 1960's and was an original founder of the Arizona Sierra Club. In his professional life, Jerry worked as a computer security specialist. He was also an author and lectured on computer security around the world. He was a passionate adventurer and loved the outdoors. As a hiker, Jerry broke trails across the state and throughout the west coast. Jerry was a pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survivors include his wife Dorothy; daughters Carrie Goelitz and Jana Lobel; grandchildren Sarah and David; step-daughters Sonia and Nadia Lancy; and brother Leonard Lobel. Graveside services were held Friday, April 23rd in Paradise Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale, with Rabbi William Berk of Temple Chai officiating. Contributions are suggested to Temple Chai, 4645 E.
