Edith May Nelson, died April 17, 2004 after a brief illness at the age of 95. She was born October 9, 1908 in Minneapolis, MN to her parents Mollie and Albert Johnson. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Central High School. Edith was married to Edward Earl Nelson August 11, 1944 until his death in 1984. They were blessed with 2 children late in life, Nancy Kathleen and Jerry Lee. Edith retired as executive chief of Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, MN and moved to Glendale, Az. in 1973. She is survived by her sister Mary "Bluie" Rohrbacher (and her husband Roger) of Kennewick, Washington, grandchildren Doug Bargfield of Ames, Iowa, Molly Purscell of Bellemont, AZ, great grandchildren Brynna Bargfield, Benjamin and Madelyn Purscell, and Gypsy Fawn Nelson. She is preceded in death by parents Mollie and Albert Johnson, brother Allen Johnson, children Nancy Kathleen Bargfield and Jerry Lee Nelson and grandchild John Nelson. Memorial Services were held Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1550 E.
