NICHOLS, Sarah Virginia


Sarah Virginia Nichols passed away at home in Hidden Meadows on April 19, 2004. Born April 22, 1916 in Mayfield KY, she lived in Phoenix, Arizona where she worked for the Arizona School District for many years. In 1983, she moved to California where she had an active life and was close to her loved ones. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary Jo and Peter La Marca of Escondido. Known as "Granny Phoenix" she is also survived by her two grandsons and granddaughter, their spouses and children, Perry and Tricia La Marca of Los Angeles, Brian and Debbie La Marca of Lakewood, Jil and Greg La Marca Baldi of Valencia. Her four great grandchildren are Taysha and Christina La Marca, and Kaiden and Asher La Marca Baldi. She will be remembered for her sparkling eyes, cheerful smile and laughter. She will be dearly missed. A simple graveside service was held Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 719 N. 27th Ave. in Phoenix, AZ where she was laid to rest next to her husband Raymond Nichols who preceded her in death October, 1982. The family suggests donations to Elizabeth Hospice of Escondido or to Alzheimer Research, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025. Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido is handling arrangements.
