The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona, Monday, December 31, 2012 Valerie Ann Harmon Long-time resident of Circle City, Valerie Ann Harmon (Walker) lost her fight with brain cancer on Dec. 25. Valerie, who was known to many as Pete, was the eighth child born to George and Valerie Adeline Walker on Sept. 2, 1960 in August, Ga. Valerie was a very giving and loving soul who loved to put on a “show” for her family and friends during any and all events. As the vice president for the Circle City Home Owners Association, she enjoyed setting up community events such as the St. Patty’s Day Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Breakfast with Santa, Christmas Lights Float Parade, and bunco for the members of her community. Valerie leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Dennis Harmon, along with grandsons Jacob and Tyler Harmon; daughter Karen (Dale Kelley) and their sons Paul and Blaze Kelley; son Dennis Harmon Jr. and his sons Jacob and Tyler; son Manuel (Gabby) Harmon; stepdaughter Marie Schaefer and her children Alisha Schaefer (Jon and Kari Schaefer), Hailey, Arron, and Elyana Simmons; and stepson Robert (Darcy) Cooley and their son Payton. Valerie also leaves behind her seven older siblings along with their spouses, children, and grandchildren - not to mention her numerous friends and extended family members. As per her wishes, Valerie will be cremated, and no services will be held. A remembrance ceremony is planned for noon Sunday, Jan. 20 at the Circle City Community Center for those wishing to join others for some barbecue and memory-sharing.
