Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, Fountain Hills, Arizona Eula Maude Gibson Breidenbach February 21, 1921 ~ December 31, 2012 Eula Maude (Gibson) Breidenbach, a long time resident of Fountain Hills, AZ, passed away at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center, Chandler, AZ. Eula’s beloved husband of 64 years passed away in 2011. Eula is survived by her son Dale (Kathy) of Ft. Collins, CO, grandson Jeff of Denver, CO, and granddaughter Kelli of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her son Robert (Cecile) of Chandler, step granddaughters Jennifer and Jami of Delaware, and six step great grandchildren, and sister, Clyde Arnold of Omaha, Nebraska. Eula was born in 1921 in Clyattville, GA -- number seven of eight children of Thomas and Berta Gibson. She grew up on the farm in Madison, FL, and was bestowed at a very young age with the nickname “Lady” given to her by her oldest brother. Anyone who knew her completely understood the appropriateness of that nickname which stuck into her adulthood. She moved to Miami after graduating from high school. In Miami, Eula worked for the censorship office during WWII. After the war, Eula moved to the accounting department at Eastern Airlines where she met Walter. They were married in Miami in 1947. Eula was a wonderful homemaker in Miami, raising her sons and impeccably managing the household while Walter advanced his career at Eastern. Eula was a meticulous homemaker, cub-scout leader, supportive little league parent, chauffer, recreational golfer, and wonderful wife/mother. Eula and Walter moved to Fountain Hills, AZ, in 1985. They enjoyed playing golf and spending the summers in cooler places like Durango, CO, Park City, UT, and Waterville Valley, NH. Eula’s golden years were very difficult with her debilitating health problems with persistent terrible back pain. We will miss her greatly!
