FREEMAN, Robert Wiley


Robert Wiley Freeman, 80 passed away on Monday, March 29, 2004. He was born September 15, 1923 in Montrose, Colorado, son of George and Mabel, a descendant of a pioneer family to western Colorado. Robert served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific on the U.S.S. Octans. A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Class of 1950 with a degree in Business Administration, he worked for International Harvester farm equipment for 28 years throughout the Midwest and Texas, and for International dealerships in Arizona until his retirement. Robert loved to golf and was active in his church as a Presbyterian elder. Robert struggled with a prolonged illness due to melanoma cancer. Moving to Dallas, Texas, in 2003 from Sun City West, Arizona, Robert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda Jean; their four children: Kirk and his wife Caroline and their children Joshua and Lindsay; Jody and her husband Mike Adams and their children Rachel and Lauren; Todd, a Presbyterian pastor; and Scott and his wife Dana and their children Terin and Chandler; and Robert's sister, Bernice Powell of Dallas, Texas. Services will be held in the chapel of Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, 214-363-5401, on Thursday, April 1, 2004. Reception following at Presbyterian Village North.
