Murelene Joan Powers, 81, died Dec. 28, 2012, at her home in Litchfield Park.
Mrs. Powers was born July 18, 1931, in Dallas to John and Lucille Price.
She moved to Arizona in 1948 where she was secretary for the Boswell Corp.
She was a professional golfer, winning the Wigwam Women's Club Championship six times and becoming a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association in 1967.
Mrs. Powers and her sister, Jean Brommelhaus, won the Sears National Baby Contest and worked as models.
She is survived by her son, Don Powers, and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road in Avondale.
