ARCHULETA, Chris A. (Cisco)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/08/2013 “Cisco” Chris A. Archuleta, 72, resident of Springerville died Jan. 3, 2013, in Flagstaff. He was born May 12, 1940, at Red Hill, N.M., the son of Aniceto Archuleta and Petrita Aragon Archuleta. Cisco served his country in the US Army from 1963-69. He was a military honor guard for President John F. Kennedy’s body after his assassination. Cisco was a lifelong cowboy; retiring from custodial work after 13 years having worked for Coyote Creek and Main Street Bar. He enjoyed carving and carpentry, leather crafting and was a gun smith. He is survived by his daughter, S. Crissy Archuleta-Owsley (Mark) of Carthage, Texas; brothers: Frank, Gilbert and Pete Archuleta; sisters: Clara Archuleta, Christine Cochran, and Maria Archuleta; and three grandchildren. Cisco was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Higeno and Felix Archuleta, and a sister Toni Ybarra. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Springerville. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Springerville Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #30 in Springerville. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
