Commander Daniel David Kenchiova Sr., 73, died Jan. 4, 2013, at his home in Show Low with his wife of 40 years, Barbara, by his side. He was born Aug. 7, 1939, in Sommer Field, Pa. and relocated to Arizona, retiring in Show Low.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Kenchiova, father, Leo Kenchiova, a sister Annabelle Ridenour, a son Daniel David Kenchiova Jr., and daughters: Pammy Renee Kenchiova and Rachel Marie Kenchiova.
He is survived by his wife, Barb Kenchiova; eight children (oldest to youngest): Bobbie Schwemm-Prather, Lisa Gonzales, Vickie Monette, Tim Kenchiova, Rocky Reiner, Rebecca Kenchiova, Aaron Kenchiova, and Rachel Daley; 14 grandchildren: Stephanie Kenchiova, A-Lyn Bowman, Donya Cantu, Nicolus Monette, Ryan Monette, Colton Schwemm, Mathew Reiner, Jacob Reiner, Abigail Gonzales, Sierra Kenchiova, Serrina Daley, Morgan Dunnivan, Tyler Daley and Daniel Kenchiova; great-grandchildren: Emily, Jacob, Timothy, Casey, Matthew, Nathan and Axel. He is also survived by his brother, Leo Kenchiova and sister Dorothy Prymus.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the VFW Show Low Post.
