Lamont Mortuary of Globe, Globe, Arizona James David Fergason (Died December 28, 2012) James Fergason was a devoted family man and loving husband. His greatest desire was to be a minister and to serve people and preach the gospel. Throughout his life this was his mission and he accomplished it with passion and sincerity. He was born to James Frederick Fergason and Dolores Bronson on December 21st 1956, the eldest of 3. He was raised in a God fearing home, along with two younger sisters: Melinda Brunton and Mary Kay Fortenberry. He attended Ozark Christian College where he met the love of his life, Cheryl Ann Fergason. They were married in May of 1978. Jim was the father of 6 children, 5 boys and 1 girl: Jeremy, Zachary, Abigail, Jared, Elijah, and Meshach Fergason. Jim found his home in Globe, Arizona where he ministered to a local church and the community for 28 years. He had a passion for the elderly and frequently served them. One of the ministries he valued most was a help line where local citizens who needed assistance could call and request aid for any reason. Jim loved the Word of God. He went on a short-term missions trip to the Philippines in the mid-80‘s where he found inspiration in the peoples desire to listen to the Word for hours on end. Jim found his foundation in Christ. He loved people, he loved his family, and he loved God. He honored God with his life and he will be dearly missed. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, January 1, 2012 at 3:30 at River of Life Church in Central Heights, AZ . ~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Wednesday, January 09, 2013 James Fergason Jim Fergason was born on Dec. 21, 1956 to James and Delores Fergason. He was the eldest of three, raised in a Christian home, along with two younger sisters, Melinda Brunton and mary Kay Fortenberry. Jim’s family left Michigan at age 5 and lived in Washington for a short time and then moved to Mesa, Ariz. Jim often recounted numerous stories of growing up with two younger sisters whom he loved and did his share of teasing with them. Jim graduated from Mesa high School and was excited that his band appeared in the movie, “The Trial of Billy Jack.” A close-up of him playing the tuba was in the movie. Years later, he was ecstatic when he found the movie and was able to show his family. Jim went to college at Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Mo. He received his bachelor of theology and met his wife, Cheryl, and they were married in May, 1978. Jim’s two favorite hobbies were taking pictures and gardening. He enjoyed taking pictures of nature, particularly flowers, and his family. Jim settled in Globe, Ariz. and ministered to two local congregations. All his jobs were there to support the ministry. He started the “Help Line,” one of his favorite ministries, where anyone in the community could call in and ask for assistance for any reason. Jim also started Koininia Cleaning, which helped those people having trouble gaining employment to be able to support themselves. Jim’s heart and passion was always for God and telling others of His Love. Memorial Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at River of Life Church in Central Heights, Ariz.
