CIESNIEWSKI, Richard P.

Reverend Richard P. Ciesniewski, 79, of Peoria, passed away April 5, 2004. Father Richard was born July 2, 1924 in Detroit, MI. He was a priest for 47 years, ordained in the Archdiocese of Detroit in 1957. He served in WWII in the Navy (CB's). He was Pastor at St. Gertrude in St. Clair Shores, MI., until he relocated to Scottsdale, AZ. in 1983. He was an Associate Pastor with St. Daniels in Scottsdale. He then was an Associate Pastor at St. Elizabeth Seton in Sun City. He moved to Peoria and served several Church's in the area. He currently resides at Plaza Del Rio Senior housing. He is survived by his brothers, Melvin F. Schafran (Barbara), Robert Schafran (Late Frances), Nephews Michael M. Schafran (Sharon), Mark R. Schafran (Michelle), Derek R. Schafran (Annie), Nieces Tracy A. Hood (David), Michelle M. Pomaville (Jeffrey), Grandnieces and nephews, Ashley, Sarah, Austin, Derek, Connor, Kelsey, Alexis, Natalie, Kate, and Bailey and dear friend Margaret Orlt. Predeceased by Marvin Schafran, Bernadette Schafran, Ronald Schafran (Christine). Rosary Service and Funeral Mass were at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W. Palmeras Lane.
