PURVIS, Virgil O.

Virgil O. Purvis, born Dec. 28, 1915 in es Arc, Arkansas and passed away April 8, 2004. Survived by his wife Thelma Purvis, son Dr. Paul Purvis, 2 grandsons Glen and Todd, 2 great-grandchildren A.J. and Samantha. He received a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas. He worked in a civil engineering firm in Little Rock, and later for the Design Engineer for the Air Force Academy. He moved to Denver and worked as a Real Estate Salesman and Broker and in 1979 moved to Phoenix. He was a member of North Phoenix Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Bible Study Teacher. A memorial service was held Monday April 12, 2004 at North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 N. Central Ave, Phx, Az. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St, Phx, Az, 85014. Published in the Arizona Republic on 4/10/2004.
