SINANOVIC, Hanson (Hansie)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, January 09, 2013 Hanson (Hansie) Sinanovic, 78, longtime resident of Prescott, Ariz., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. Hansie was born on Jan. 27, 1934, in Carlsbad, N.M., to Muharem and Bertha (Marich) Sinanovic. Hansie graduated in 1952, from Glendale Union High School. He joined the Marines in 1953 and served in the Korean War. He retired from the Arizona Department of Public Safety for 27 years as a highway patrolman. In his earlier years, he enjoyed building custom homes. Hansie was an avid football fan; he loved and was loved by his family and was fond of wildlife around his home, often taking pictures of them and feeding them. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, son-in-law Tom Gaffney, and granddaughter Sabrina Taylor. Hansie is survived by his brothers, Omer (Julie) Sinanovic of Sun City, Ariz., and Mike Sinanovic of Marysville, Wash.; his two daughters, Pamela (Walt) Parsons of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Diana Atchley of Walla Walla, Wash.; and son Steven Sinanovic of Glendale, Ariz. He is also survived by his three stepchildren, Linda Finch of Phoenix, Ariz., Jerry Palmer of Nevada, and Debbie Gaffney of Temecula, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N 59th Ave, Glendale. There will be a reception at Palmbrook Country Club, 9350 W. Greenway Road, Sun City, following services at 3 pm. Condolences may be offered at www.chapelofthechimesmortuary.com.
