She was born Carol Elaine Osborn to Harold and Lucille (Schaefer) Osborn on May 17th, 1928 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She attended St. Benedict's College for Women and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. While in college, she was affiliated with Sigma Psi Gamma Sorority, Kappa Omnicron National Honor Sociology Fraternity, the Young Republican's Club, and the Newman Club. Her career as an educator took her to many places, starting with her first teaching position in Phoenix, Arizona in 1950, California in the 50's and 60's, and then Canton, Ohio where she taught middle school for over twenty years. She was a member of the National Education Association (NEA), the Canton Women's Club, and the Canton College Club. She was also active in the Association of University Women. Carol and Jim traveled extensively and she had many wonderful memories of their trips together, especially Africa, Scandavia, Ireland, and Hong Kong. In 1996, Carol and Jim moved permanently to Fountain Hills, Arizona, where they enjoyed meeting new friends and renewing old friendships in the Valley. Carol enjoyed her membership in Church of the Ascencion, PEO Sisterhood, Welcome Wagon, and the Fountain Hills Women's Club. She also very much enjoyed her service as a community volunteer. As long as her health would allow, Carol enjoyed playing bridge, reading, grandmothering, and socializing with friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
