Heritage Funeral Chapel, Peoria, Arizona Wilma June Campbell June 17, 1928 - December 30, 2012 Wilma June Campbell age 84, died December 30, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ. Wilma or June was born in Rush Center, KS on June 17, 1928. June was the daughter of R.A. Campbell and Fern Scranton Campbell of Rush Center, KS. June attended Rush Center Grade School and LaCrosse High School where she graduated with honors much to J's dismay in 1946. In, 1949, June and her cousin Lenore (Lonny) Martin Davison moved to New York City where June lived until her death. June started her banking career in NYC with the Greenwich Savings Bank and retired from Greenwich 36 years later, where she was the bank manager. June was a true New Yorker and loved the city and all that it offered. She loved the theatres and attended many plays during the years. She also loved concerts of her favorite artists especially Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall. She started off her New York life as a Mets fan, but over time became a die hard Yankees fan. Anyone who spent any time with June soon discovered that she loved the Yankees. In 2002 her brother J and her sister in law Colleen were able to take her to Yankee stadium to watch the Yankees play the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Yankees won the game. That was first and only time she went to the stadium. During her retirement when the Yankees weren't playing, June was playing Sudoku. She become very accomplished and took 3 New York newspapers so she could always have a puzzle at hand. June loved flowers. Not only was she famous for her window boxes where she grew geraniums, but anyone that knew June would give her flowers; especially peonies for holidays and any special occasions. June was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Melvin Clifford (Bob). And her cousin Lenore Martin Davison and Lonny's husband Norm Davison of Farmington, CT. June is survived by her brother, J and sister in law Colleen of Phoenix, AZ; her sister in law Connie, of Denver. She is also survived by nephews Roger (Jan), Greg, Steve (Tory); nieces Jane Campbell, Linda (Don) Herman, Kathleen (John) Fern and Coral of Phoenix; great nephews Tim, Christopher, Derek, Colt, Justin and Christopher (Claudia); great nieces Amy, Kelsey, Megan and Becky (Jared); & many extended family and friends. A memorial service will be planned in New York and Rush Center, KS in the spring of 2013. Arrangements will be announced later.
