Eugene Bohnee died Thursday, April 8, 2004 in Tempe, Arizona at the age of 91.
He was born April 14, 1912 in Mishongnovi, Arizona on the Hopi Indian Reservation and was called "Lomanuxsu".
As a young man he left the reservation and moved to The Valley. He became a skilled painter and worked for many prominent people in the valley.
He married Ruth Wilson Bohnee in 1932. She died in 1984. Eugene was affectionately known as "Grandpa" to many. He is survived by his son, Harlan Bohnee (Ruth); daughter, Dolores Flores (Al); 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Thursday, April 15, 2004 at The Chapel of Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler. The funeral was Friday, April 16, 2004 at The Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church on Casa Blanca Road in Casa Blanca on the Gila River Indian Reservation where viewing was also prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Stotonic Cemetery.
