CHAPMAN, Jean Elizabeth

Jean Elizabeth (Danini) Chapman, 78, of Tolleson, Arizona, passed peacefully on April 7, 2004. Jean was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 10, 1925. She moved to Tolleson with Chappy in 1945. Jean was a self-taught artist and marketed her artwork under her maiden name "Danini". Over the years she assisted with many organizations instructing others with her artistic skills, active volunteer with Tolleson Little League, Tolleson High School Letterman's Club, Tolleson Fire Bells, the local senior center. As an active member of the Arizona Water Well Association she organized many fund raising activities and assisted in membership recruitment. She enjoyed square dancing with Isaac Squares and camping and fishing with the family. She worked outside the home as an assistant buyer at Diamonds Department Store. Later she was a teacher's aid at Tolleson Elementary. She is survived by her husband, Henry (Chappy) Chapman of 61 years, her three children Carol Stewart of Arizona, Richard from Illinois and James from California. Grandmother of six and great-grandmother of ten. Jean was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She lived a great life full of stories and although she has passed on, her memory will live in our hearts forever. A visitation was held Monday, April 12, 2004, at Crystal Rose Funeral Home, 9155 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson. Graveside service was Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale.
