Antolino T. Ballejos died peacefully, Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at University Medical Center in Tucson. He was born Dec. 20, 1939, in St. Johns to Jenaro and Carlota Tafoya Ballejos.
Antolino moved to Winkelman in 1967 and has been a resident of the Tri-Community area for 45 years. He (Tony) worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) in Globe for 35 years. He was also a member of the Elks Club.
He is survived by his seven kids: Charlotte (Frank) Castro, Jenaro (Debbie) Ballejos, Arlene Ballejos, Laura (Jesus) Ortega, Veronica (Martin) Rios, Merlinda (Thomas) Cabrera and Antolino (Melanie) Ballejos; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother Roger Nuanez and sister Belma Baca; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Onie Nuanez, Mary B. Chavez and Telesfora Ballejos.
A viewing and Rosary will be held from 5-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow the mass at the Catholic Cemetery in St. Johns.
