Peter Joseph Bercia passed away on Saturday Jan. 5, 2013 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 90. Peter was born on Feb. 21, 1922 in Derry, Pa. to Marcello and Ilia (Delladonne) Bercia.
Peter proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting on March 5, 1945 until his Honorable Discharge as Staff Sergeant on Dec. 10, 1946. Peter then attended St. Vincent College and the University of Pittsburg to become a Pharmacist. Peter and his wife Stella moved to Lake Havasu City in 1991 from Rialto, Calif. where he worked as a Pharmacist for Thrifty. Peter enjoyed his retirement in Lake Havasu City and enjoyed gambling and playing cards. He was a member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of The Eagles and The Elks Lodge.
Peter is survived by his daughter, Pier Bercia of Lake Havasu City; grandson, Matthew Bercia of Lake Havasu City; brother, Robert Bercia of Lake Havasu City; sisters, Mary Filicy and Helen Nesbitt both of Pittsburg, Pa. and Erma Macaluso of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephews, David Bercia and wife Judy and their son Dokata of Flagstaff and Ronnie Macaluso and wife Kelly of Las Vegas, Nev. and niece Connie Buchner and husband Bob of Homer City, Pa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella in 1993 and son, Mark.
