KERBOW, Billy Joe


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ- Posted: Monday, January 7, 2013 - Billy Joe Kerbow passed away Dec. 30, 2012 at his residence in Lake Havasu City at the age of 85. He was born Feb. 19, 1927 in Brice, Texas. After High School he joined the Merchant Marines and served as a cook and baker for four years. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and served for four years. He attended college and earned his masters degree from Pepperdine University and became an exceptional elementary school teacher in California. During his long teaching career he was revered and highly respected by his students and colleagues. After retirement he and his wife moved to Arizona. Billy is survived by his loving wife, Maria; sister, Margaret Neyland; daughters, Sharon Kerbow, Shirley Burr, Diana Laehle; sons, Daniel Kerbow and Edward Brown; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
