RANDALL, Raul (Pablo)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, January 10, 2013 Paul "Pablo" Randall transcended into the light on Jan. 3, 2013; he was 58 years old. Pablo mastered many arts and touched people from all walks of life with his talents and diverse interests during his rich and full life. He was born in Newark, N.J., on Sept. 16, 1954, to Francine Visarraga and Willie Randall, and was of Seminole, Tewa, Basque and African heritage. He developed street-smarts in Modesto, San Francisco and Oakland, Calif., and rose above adversity to become an avid horticulturist, Eagle-Sundancer, martial artist, musician and Bodhisattva. Pablo took his last breath in Prescott, Ariz., after a bout with lung cancer on Jan. 3, 2013. Amazingly, last summer, without complaints, he continued his commitment as a fire keeper at the Little Big Medicine Sundance and in the Native American Church. In addition to his spiritual tasks, Pablo walked up to 10 miles every night for seven years as a custodian for Yavapai College. Before Prescott, Pablo raced through the steep streets of San Francisco as a bike messenger and earned a black belt in judo. Early in life, Pablo became a musician and, among other instruments, played the bass guitar. As a horticulturalist, having served under a Bonsai master for years in California, he preferred living a simple and humble life close to the earth in Arizona. As a seeker of spiritual truths, Pablo took the vow of Bodhisattva seriously and walked this earth helping others. He is survived by his sons, Caleb Sage Marshal and Leonard Lusk; his aunt Iman Visarraga; bother Mauricio Visarraga; nephew Arturo Visarraga; and a grand-nephew and grand-niece. He loved and honored all of his relations and spiritual family. Pablo's bright smile and humble spirit will live as an inspiration in the hearts of his friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations for the Paul "Pablo" Randall Memorial Fund can be deposited at any Wells Fargo Bank branch.
