Services will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Hampton Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, January 26, 2013 Alfred M. "Al" Hartzell passed away Jan. 9, 2013, in Prescott, Ariz., at Good Samaritan Marley House Hospice after a long illness. He was born Feb. 5, 1950, in Hawthorne, Calif. to William and Mildred Hartzell. Al attended schools in Downey and Anaheim, Calif., and also took classes at Yavapai College. Although Al spent his youth in California, he lived most of his life in Arizona, living in Bisbee, Yuma, Nogales, Tucson, Prescott and finally Chino Valley. Al worked in the radio broadcasting field for over 40 years, and for the past 34 years as chief engineer and announcer at a local radio station. Radio was his job but electronics was his passion, taking pleasure in all manner of gadgets. Al enjoyed traveling with his wife, get-togethers with family, his church, music, especially guitars, the outdoors and his pets. Al is survived by his wife of 30 years, Noreen; his mother Mildred; brother Carl (Linda); sister Kathy; sisters-in-law Lucille (Jeff), Georgia (Richard); brothers-in-law Gordon (Gerry), Dan (Marion); Aunt Muriel; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
